Despite claims to the contrary, empirical research has identified the characteristics of instruction that help students overcome their reading difficulties. In this second in a series of webinars from the International Dyslexia Association (IDA), Dr. Mathes covers not only the basic components of effective instruction, but also how the nature of this instruction changes with each tier of instruction as well as what we now understand about how this instruction should be engineered to reduce confusion, increase academic engagement and cumulative practice, and how to integrate the various threads of reading instruction into one coherent unit. Dr. Mathes will close the webinar by providing the critical information schools need to ensure that scientifically sound instruction is provided to students who struggle to read at every tier of instruction.

For those who attended our first IDA webinar, this session represents a follow-up to requests for more details about the nature of highly effective instruction for students who are dyslexic. Download the PDF here.
